What to Expect from Your Wasp Nest Removal

Step 1: Inspection

Your local Lifetime Pest Control Wasp Control Pro will start your wasp control service by inspecting your property. They will look to identify the wasp species and locate active or hidden nests, assessing risks around your home. 

Step 2: Targeted Treatment

Depending on the nest type and location, we’ll apply targeted wasp control solutions that focus on the queen and ensure the hive is effectively removed from your property. Wasp control solutions that your local Lifetime Pest Control Wasp Control Pro may implement can include: 

• Aerosol Treatments – When dealing with exposed wasp or hornet nests, your local Lifetime Pest Control Wasp Control Pro will treat the nest directly with a contact aerosol or foam aerosol treatment. Both aerosol treatments offer a targeted approach designed to eradicate the queen and eliminate the colony.
• Dust Treatments – For wasp or hornet nests in voids or underground, the nest entrance is treated with a residual dust treatment. As the insects traverse to and from the nest they will walk across the residual dust allowing it to spread throughout the colony.

Step 3: Nest Removal (if needed)

Once the queen has been removed, the colony will slowly collapse. In some cases, your local Lifetime Pest Control Wasp Control Pro may elect to remove the nest to expedite things. This can be done by enveloping the nest with netting or plastic bags.  This is typically done during the early morning or late afternoon to ensure a large percent of the wasps/hornets will be inside the nest at the time of removal. Your local Lifetime Pest Control Wasp Control Pro will then remove the nest from your property.

It should be noted that for some species of wasps/hornets, an inactive nest can act as a deterrent for future nest building in the same area.  In this case, it may be best to leave the nest in place once the population inside has been eliminated.
